Forum on Productive Youth Development through Sport in Africa

React to the official recommendations of the Forum on Productive Youth Development through Sport in Africa, which took place from June 16-18, 2009 in Nairobi.

Recommendation 3: Encourage Knowledge Sharing
• Seek ways to minimise competition and promote collaboration.
• Promote the benefits of both formal and informal networks and communicate them clearly.
• Create a safe space to share lessons learned stemming from failures, as well as successes, so that we might all learn from each others’ experiences. 1. I'll make my comment by a famous quote I overheard somewhere:) "If you have an apple and I have an apple, then I give my apple and you give me yours, both of us will still have an apple each. But if you have an idea and I have another Idea, and we exchange Ideas, we will each have 2 Ideas."

  2. God designed our bodies with different organs. But one cannot operate successfully without the other. We have great competencies within our organizations and if shared we will reach the development goals set by our governments, UN, EU etc. all for the sake of uplifting human life on earth....

  3. One organization area of weakness is an area if strenth to another organization, therefore organizations existing for development especially the well being of our youth needs to cooperate not compete (competitions are for comodity and we are dealing with humans here...

  4. Life teaches us new expiriences differently, we need to get out of self and focus on the power of networking, complimentary approaches and open to our expiriences. Its only through this that we can be productive as youth and thus strengthen our coexistance.

  5. its easy to break one stick but becomes difficult to break a bunch especially when tied strongly together either strong or weak, that how its works we should focus on how to strengthen the weakness we have lather than exposing them.
